Line Library

Year 1

Derived from the "Totem Project," this library explores whether a library can be contained within a single line. The design features a dense external spine for storage and an internal zig-zag mezzanine for reading. Its final curved form—terminating in a "serif"—divides the site into public and private zones while shielding the interior from the Houston sun. Through a sawtooth roof and strategic glazing, the architecture transforms a linear template into a light-filled sanctuary and community hub.
