Other Projects:

Invisible Cities Print, 2024, drypoint etching, 11” x 8.5”

  • This printmaking project was inspired by the book Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. Calvino describes different imaginary cities as seen by a wandering traveler. Taking inspiration from my native city, San Francisco, I added monolithic domes which emerge from the cityscape, a clear sign of the surreal and imaginary nature of this place.

Eraser Study, 2024, Pencil, 10” x 10”

Ramen Spoon, 2023, Woodcarving, 2”x 9”

  • Carved out of a block of cherry wood, the spoon is inspired by Japanese ramen spoons. I hoped that by curving the handle and beveling the edges, I could create an elegant and balanced form.

French Picnic, 2022, Watercolor, 10” x 10”

  • This watercolor depicts a group of friends eating lunch underneath a tree. In this painting, I was focusing on layering the watercolors to add texture and depth. I also played with different shades of green to show how the light cascades through the canopy.

Spaceship Study

Digital, 2023, 8.5”x11”

After watching Andor, I was inspired by the distinct yet functional space ship designs that the show explored and wanted to try and create my own spaceship design. Using both my interest in aerospace and design, I went through different iterations and concept sketches to eventually create a polished final image in an isometric view.
